2017 MUHAMMAD ALI SIX CORE PRINCIPLE AWARD RECIPIENTS Young Humanitarians Uplift the World through Service to Others In addition to awards presented to seasoned humanitarians, six young people, 30 years of age or younger, are honored with an award for each of Muhammad’s Six Core Principles: Confidence, Conviction, Dedication, Giving, Respect and Spirituality. Nominations for these awards were received from 17 countries and five continents. These individuals represent a new generation of advocates, activists, role models and humanitarians who continue Muhammad Ali’s legacy by transforming communities and bringing about positive change in the world. A long-term advocate and activist against hunger and malnutrition, Gavin is the Founder and President of Lucky Iron Fish Enterprise®, a social enterprise attempting to alleviate iron deficiency around the world using a simple health innovation. He was a Fulbright Scholar at Auburn University and was awarded the prestigious Forbes 30 Under 30 in the Social Entrepreneur category in 2016. In 2017, he was named Social Entrepreneur of the Year by EY Canada. Mohammed is the co-founder and CEO of Aspire, a company that develops some of the most advanced insect farming technol- ogy in the world. Aspire targets markets that utilize insects for applications in nutrition, biomedicine and agrochemicals with a vision to alleviate global food insecurity. With expertise in business development, finance and strategic partnerships, Mohammed leads Aspire’s operations and growth in the United States and Ghana.
